Abstract

We show the study data of insulin-like growth factor system components — IGF-I, IGF-II. IGFBP-1, IGFBP-3 in 74 patients with malignant bone tumors, 14 borderline and 25 benign tumors before specific treatment. The association of elevated IGF-I basic levels with relapse-free and overall survival was detected. The connection between high IGF-II levels and unfavorable prognosis of relapse-free survival was shown in our study. High serum concentrations of IGFBP-1 and IGFBP-3 was associated with low overall survival in sarcoma patients.
