Correction of blood rheology properties with chest stab wounds by electromagnetic waves of millimeter range
Abstract
The purpose of research — to study the influence of electromagnetic waves of extremely high frequency (EHF) millimeter wave on blood rheology in patients with penetrating stab wounds to the chest without internal injuries within of the 10 days postoperative period. Methods. Three groups of men (average age 35 years) were studied: 10 of the wounded patients without irradiation; 12 patients with application of EHF-therapy, and 15 relatively healthy volunteer donors of the same age and sex. Determined the blood viscosity, deformation index and the aggregation of red blood cells. Results. In injured patients the blood viscosity increased by 40—45% compared with healthy, and the use of EHF accelerated recovery of this indicator. Patients tolerated the procedure and irradiation did not cause any side effects. Conclusion. EHF-therapy in patients with stab wounds to the chest promotes more rapid recovery of blood rheological properties and does not cause side effects.
